Upcoming Poetry Events
Hey North County & beyond .. coming to the Poets INC podium on Sunday Dec 7 @ 1pm
A reading featuring the visual artists and poets of the EAP’s 17th Annual Anthology of Art+Poetry: Summation. Although there may not be time for an open reading, poets are encouraged to come enjoy the ambience and get a preview of next year’s book art. Easels will be set up for any artists who are still in possession of their artworks to display while they inform the audience of their process, awards, upcoming shows, etc.
Here’s a fun idea: come dressed in shades of black/grey/white* to celebrate our first ever grayscale book cover, by artists Will Gibson (Pollarded Sycamores, front cover) and Sally Reis Vogt (Dutch Shopping Day, back cover). Additionally, four more pages within the book were shades of black/grey/white: Lynette Bredow, a second Will Gibson photograph, plus works by Bob Hill and Susan Hill – a Summation record!
*suggested, not required for entry
No RSVP is necessary – there’s room for all 60+ chairs on a First Sunday. There will be light fare (chips, fruit, cookies, water, etc) on the table, but feel free to bring your own drink, or grab something from one of the cafes across the street. Also feel free to bring a mask if it makes you more comfortable. Note that there will be an intermission at the book’s halfway point (approx page 90).
